border line pathetic... me. solo. movie theater. It's something that I've always challenged myself to do but never had the balls to do it. Or maybe there has never been a movie out that I wanted to see bad enough to go see it alone. Could I have planned it out earlier and invited someone who might be kind enough to go with me? Yes, but that didn't happen. Maybe I should have just waited until next weekend to watch it... then again I don't have enough patience. Seriously I ask myself what the heck is holding me back? It's only a movie in a huge theater with at least 50 people around you.... see you are not exactly "alone". Exactly, what's the big fat deal? So I went, last minute decision, made it in time for the last preview and then the movie started. I had three, four empty seats on both of my right and left hand side, I was really, REALLY alone. I am not sure what drove me to do it because "How to loose a guy in 10 days" isn't exactly a solo-type of movie... at least bring a cat or something but my cats weren't available either. I mean, can we catagorize movies into "don't be caught dead watching it by yourself at theaters" movie or "couples only" movie, "perfect for family" movie, "must watch with a person on each side SCARY" movie... I don't know. But I guess the truth is I didn't enjoy it completely. People said that movie is good, and was I distracted by my own consciousness or what I am not too sure, all I know is I wasn't feeling it. The movie's cute, most definitely, but I just think I might have enjoyed it more if I had someone there by my side-- if I can laugh with someone else next to me, someone I know of course. Anyway, I guess the good thing about going to the movie alone is you can always find a seat! You don't have to worry about what your friends think of your taste in movies and you can just walk off as quickly as possible without having those post movie polite discussions. In conclusion, I still prefer to watch a movie in the theater with someone. Someone who has the same taste and humor as I do, someone who I can have real (not just polite) discussions with after the movie with a cup of coffee... hmmmm sounds nice. It was a good experience tho, and I think I will do it again, in the near future, for an appropriate solo-type of movie.
I had a lot in mind that I wanted to say but I guess my mind is only capable of doing one thing or two at once, not three... and I planned on calling my friends in Taiwan, what happened to that? I wonder if they even think of me, or better yet do I still have any friends, real friends left in Taiwan? How do I expect myself to handle a serious, committed relationship when i can't even build a solid friendship? beats me...
