so. in less than 24 hrs I'll be flying back to the states-- kinda annoyed. Yeah, this is how i feel every single time-- annoyed. but this time things are clear to me, this is where my home is. This is my home... I know for many years i've questioned the idea of home: what is it and where is it? US vs Taiwan, etc... but now I'm sure, it's here. Even though Taiwan's sort of moving backward, even though the economy is so bad that the streets seemed empty and the street vendors are making more watery soup instead of adding the real good stuff, but this is still home. Things will get better, nothing hits rock bottom forever. It's like that damn curve we learned in econ 101, it goes up and down, up and down... and Taiwan's been going down for 10 years now it's bound to come back up, it's just a matter of when and how quickly. Taiwan's an interesting and amazing place, I have faith in its "recovery time" and in its abilities. Either way, even though I am critical of "Taiwanese", but that's only because I want to see the Taiwanese ppl do well and become competitive in the big bad world out there. Right now we are turning our backs to what's really going on out there and by ignoring issues will only make us weak and less valuable in the near future. China is finally growing, the dragon has awaken yet Taiwan, is turning into a little snake and will soon become a tiny worm if it doesn't wake up and smell the coffee. That's what I'm really worried about-- I mean I'm one of the lucky few, to have the family and lifestyle we have here... so maybe all those that's going on doesn't seem to affect us as much and as directly, but it is in fact affecting everything. Aye.... either way... I think eventually I want to come back to Taiwan, maybe in another year? Another couple or three years? But first thing's first, I must achieve my goal-- finish school, find a job, learn as much as I can until I'm ready to start my own studio here in Taiwan. For some odd reason, I've always pictured myself having my own company in Taiwan, not in the states... weird.

either way, I also realized nothing much is keeping me there except for my friends and LEvi. Levi I can easily fly here but friends, not so easy. W/o them I would have died long ago... I would have moved back w/o question. And I know I can detach myself quite easily but I consciously try to keep in touch with everyone that's how I stayed friends with some of my friends here in Taiwan for so long... so from that I know, Taiwan is really where I'd rather be in the future. I think I can travel back and forth, but have Taiwan as my main stay. Yup.. that's the plan, I've decided. I'm pretty sure this time, that "idea" won't change.

we'll see. I guess I have to pack now, can't avoid it... gotta do what we gotta do...
