today was amazing.
i admit at first I wanted to call in sick and avoid having to be at some place and "work" all together. I've grown too lax and too accustomed to having lots of free time and no responsibility-- at least not towards any organization.
But it was fun. I learned many things indirectly, and it was fast paced, with friendly ppl, cool designers that were so sincere and friendly that made the whole experience that much better. But again, gotta be honest, now that I've seen designers working as professionals in a corporation I just want to say "fuck it" and go for any other job. I think my old job really fucked me up, seriously... I am just anti- corporation even if it is in an industry that I like, in a company that I respect. THe old job left a really nasty taste in my mouth and I really wanted to avoid corporates, and avoid working for others if possible. Aye...
Dunno something about it (today) bothers me a bit. Nothing's wrong with the company or people or processes or structure in fact everyone's just really awesome, but something still bugged me.... I kept thinking I want to do something else. Dunno why... i can't quite put my finger on it but... something.
I guess it's just me wanting to avoid responsibility and to... not deal with things? I don't know.... what the fuck.........
alright. that's that.
I should sleep. I think I do want to go into residential, more one on one, more intimate, Bruce was right-- I think I should stick with residential and smaller companies. but this experience with this company will come in handy one day. It's still all part of the plan.
:)
