job-less market
Holy s. I mean I knew the job market is BAD. But "40 posts only" bad? I didn't know that! I mean I knew instinctively that perhaps looking for a job right now is totally pointless, but to come face to face with "40 posts only" on a strictly (and widely used in the industry) architectural job search site, means HORRIBLE NEWS! That means all of us are looking at those same 40 posts and all of us probably have applied to those same 40 job openings, and only 40 of us would get an offer! I mean what is the probability here lets see.... hmmmm how about .000001% ?! The good thing is, because I looked, I've learned 1) I was right, there's no real point if one's truly hoping for an interview, try praying for a miracle first & 2) I found the firm that does the most amazing, fun, wild and perfect office designs! They've been published left and right and every time I come across their designs, I've (not knowing at the time) made a mental note if not literally made a mark on the page. I cannot get over how fun, creative, and out of the box BOLD their designs are, I just LOVE IT. I love love love love it. Well see, there you go, that's my next target! When I am ready, and when I think I can handle corporate again, I will apply and I will get an offer. No other choice but to get an offer. Right now, simply not the time yet... still got much "upgrading" to do....
Speaking of up-grades, I need:
1) pass my LEED exam on 3/26, supposedly a good date to start something NEW
2) take 3D modeling / rendering classes ... b/c heck if I wanna talk S about other ppl's designs, I should be able to do better ones, although I am just a natural born critic (and pretty darn "right" at it too)
3) revit? hmm it seems like the industry could careless about that right now, what a shame.
Aside from upgrades, I need to try to fit the following into my schedule:
1) Leed STUDY STUDY STUDY
2) Sal's wedding invitation (+) & decor
3) Classes to take (upgrade related, plus dance? Ideally)
4) Travel (Taiwan as priority, then everywhere else)....
It almost seems like Taiwan needs to take place in March / April due to my spine/muscle issues, and the rest of the trip can begin in the 3rd quarter? I don't know, doesn't seem like I have enough time to do everything! Darn...
So preliminary schedule would be LEED in AM (assuming I fix my sleeping schedule), Classes whenever they begin in the time of the day in a week, and then Sal's wedding related. I think that's quite a good balance?
Alright. That's set for now. I shall sleep. and I WILL try to sleep earlier from now on.... UNTIL I TRAVEL AGAIN! HA!
:D
