Fortune Cookie of the Day "Stop searching forever. Happiness is just next to you". It cannot have been said any better. It's true! Stop searching, just stop and look and maybe it's starring me in the eyes. Who knows... but I'm feeling rather happy and motivated right now. Saw some of the work done by my teacher today in his student days, all I was able to say was "wow, holy shit". Now I know what it takes to get to where he is, which is where I want to be... it takes great work and patience and practice and very meticulous eyes/hands/craft to be successful. So now I know, I need to work on my patience and just practice practice and practice. Also I should definitely consider taking a rendering class, perhaps that's what I should do in the summer; internship, rendering class, and building codes. Sounds good... lets see if they will let me do that.
But no matter how motivated I feel, I can't get myself to just sit and draw carefully. Not lately, sort of been doing what I call my chicken scratch, really quick crappy sketches that really amount to nothing. So I was advised today to work on it... extra hard and carefully. So tomorrow I'll be visiting few show rooms I guess :)
Another thing is I need help with landscaping and the exterior of the house... ahh where can I find it! Inspiration I mean... I need inspiration I am starting to loose it! And I need to loose some of the stuff, too much--- this is when "less is more". So I need to stick to one concept, really work it through--- this is exactly what I felt before and today teacher also advised me on that, so my instinct was right and if I can't resolve that my design will just get weaker as I work towards the finish product. Ahhh how frustrating this is one challenge I must overcome. If I can't make it work in this quarter, I'll try to make it work in the next, and the next until it happens. Patience patience patience... dad's friend's right. This is not the year to rush, so far none of my drawings were able to really translate what I see in my mind, I haven't been able to properly project my ideal onto paper which is simply not good enough. But I know I can do it, it just takes time and I must make the time.
Alright. So conclusion of the day, draw with intent, draw with patience.
