Overview:
Your abilities are almost superhuman. The only problem is that some parasitic types think that means they can lean on you to clean up their messes. Show them the way, but don't perform their tasks for them.

Right...

clean carpet... love it.
I've wasted almost half a day, and I'm feeling too lazy to pack up and leave tonight. Perhaps I'll drive home tomorrow morning.

I need to catch up on work, magazines, on things in general. Okay, thats that. I'm staying in (LA) today. And I need to brain storm for letterhead/envelope design ideas. I'm enjoying myself very much lately... with all these random but fun projects, however I also feel tired, all the time. A lot to do out there right... but a lot more to do at home. Alright... TBC.
sometimes, just sometimes it takes a "bad attitude" to get things done. That's what I learned today with Dell this morning. It doesn't mean you have to be rude, or mean, but firm. You have to be a bit intimidating, I think... you can't be too easy going. You have to make your intentions known and most importantly you have to demand a solution right there and then, otherwise they'll just continue to reshuffle your request until you are somehow filtered OUT OF THE SYSTEM. So today, I finally, resolved that desktop issue.

what else...

so Charles is leaving... he's been with the company for 10 years and he's ready to leave... interesting.... I guess there's not one company out there that's so fun and amazing and can continue to provide the necessary challenge and rewards in order to keep an employee. I think ultimately those satisfied with just working for one company, for someone else is simply ... someone else, and not me. Apparently there are a lot of us out there, who eventually outgrow a place, a position, a title, an experience. I think the bottom line is how do you keep something "fresh" and interesting... I plan on getting as much as I possibly can out of this company as well and I look forward to the day when I can say the exact same thing that Charles said today... except I just hope I'll reach that point in less than 10 years

and... oh yeah I felt like being spontaneous today. So I did something spontaneous, of course given the opportunity presented itself--- I went to a Lakers game! It was sooooooo fun! Thanks to Matthijs and Steven and his gf, the seats were amazing, ROW 7!! WE were sitting directly across from Jack Nicolson and aside from that, I have to say Kobe is indeed a MVP, he scored nearly 50% of the points for the game and his shots are always so precise and "flawless" (gotta say that with a British Accent). I had so much fun even though I was so tired. And of course, the laker girls... gees... that's some smile, ass, abs... amazing.... what a fun job. And the best of all, I actually found parking for free! Of course, that was after I went around and around, missed the first quarter... etc. But I am glad I didn't give up and go home, I would have missed an experience of a lifetime! Prior to the game I went to MOCA for the lovely Skins and Bones exhibit. I have to say it is one of the most fascinating exhibit for me... in fact I will have to go back again so I can really look at everything every detail. I think I can spend hours there... yup... I think I can just sit there and try to learn as much as I can.

So many creative people out there... how did they become so creative? How long did it take for them to get to where they are at today? Is there a formula for success? A good attitude? A positive outlook? A smile? Willingness to try something different? Willingness to take risks.... and be different? Or the ability to think outside the box and to have the audacity to challenge the norm... to push the envelope? To question? To reinvent something, or simply, to look at things from a slightly different angle, a different perspective? I'm in awe, and inspired by what I saw today... I think I have to go back. I have to find a chance a day to just go and absorb everything... I need to understand the things I see and not merely to walk by and go "ohhh nice". I want to fully understand their concept their message and their purpose... I think if I can understand the way someone think then that means I've internalized it and then, I can come up with my own stuff. I don't ever want to be one of those people that just inmitates, or straight out copy. I want to be "interesting" in my own ways. The question is, how do I develop that vocabulary? How can I come up with my own language? So much to think about... so much to do, but so little time....

perhaps I'll always have similar questions for myself... perhaps I'll never get a satisfactory answer... but I am willing to try.
