Why exactly is Bush pushing for this so-called War on Terrism? War on Iraq? And no I am not looking for politically correct reasons you hear on the news. What exactly, is it, that Bush wishes to accomplish here? As a President of the United States? Or as the son of President Bush? Is he just trying to manage the situation and take it under control by dealing with the cards that he was dealt with to the best of his ability? Or is he taking advantage of his people's ignorance or lack of say to accomplish acts of terror himself? One country's terrorist is another country's hero, a balance is only acheived this way. A positive and a Negative sign that coexist-- Ying Yang or Yang Ying, all depends on how you look at things. However the question that I am really asking myself is, is this war a must? Strip away the reasons, and take away the emotion-- is war ever the answer to anything? The only solution? It's interesting how people resort to war, violence so easily when really, it's a matter of changing your mind, changing your perspective, making different choices-- only if all decisions are made with the intention to avoid and minimize conflict, with the good of all in mind. I really am not sure why I am so bothered by this-- I know I can care less about the world at large and I haven't done my homework enough to say anything profound, but it is taking up a lot more mental space in my mind than what I intended to give-- I catch myself paying more attention, tuning into the news more, suddenly I wish I was back at school so I can learn more about this, learn more and in depth. To discover what we don't learn through the media and to have serious discussions again with classmates-- not that our voices were ever heard or had any impact on the world but, it felt good to have people around who also cared. The good thing I noticed lately is, we are beginning to get more world news here in the US. Heard in S.Korea more than 120 people were killed and 100 still missing in the crowded subway-- honestly I have no clue what caused it but it was brought to my attention by a friend's e-mail from Taiwan. For some odd reason, it made my morning that much shittier. Is it me who don't care enough to pay more attention or, is it the whole U.S. that doesn't care enough to pay attention? I wish we can get more world news coverage in the future... or at least I wish I can develop a better habit and focus on what's important... it must be me....
