ah it's been a while. Adelphia's crappy, problematic high speed internet has left me feeling KRANKY for the past few days. Couldn't get much done w/o the internet and honestly, couldn't enjoy the beauty of having the whole apt to myself when the internet is down. But yeah, that's that and now I'm BACK ON TRACK!
This month of May's been quite busy for me. All these events to attend, field trips, volunteering work and not to mention midterm and projects. I realized if i don't hurry up and do something about my final projects now, I'll be in BIG ASS trouble later. I'll be crying and whinning and taking lots of prozac assuming it works. So tomorrow, I will start on my drafting final projects. I technically already started but I gotta go back and enlarge some floor plans, and redo basically all of my perspective drawings. Yes I'm stressed out, but no not going to go crazy yet.
Then Friday I gotta try and finish my Illustrator HWs. THat shouldn't take too long, probably just 3 hrs. And if I am feeling happy and motivated, I will perhaps start on my History class's final project. Uh huh, I'm trying to stay pro-active, on top of my game and all. THen hopefully Saturday I can go and focus on my wedding dress shopping... even though I'm not the one getting married, but I'd still like to look somewhat decent. I realized I'm at that age when if I don't find someone interesting soon, I'll just loose all hope and become the cynical woman that I don't want to be. I'm sort of already there... sigh.
Anyway, so I volunteered for the Smile Train none profit org over the weekend... it has truly opened my eyes! I am really greatful that I had the chance to meet the organization, to meet the people, and to meet the guest speaker Wong Li from China. She is only 17, very simple person and who likes to smile a lot now. I guess having 9 years of your life smile less would make anyone appreciate the beauty of being able to talk properly and smile that much more. She was shy at first, but later on she got comfortable with me and started asking me the hard questions. She was curious about politics, about currency exchange, about why the U.S. dollar is so strong and of course, what my views are on the China / Taiwan situation. I mean those were tough questions to answer b/c we came from two very different background and especially when it comes to the tension between Taiwan and China... I really didn't know what to say. I mean I guess I told her my honest opinion, I'm rather objective actually in comparison to most Taiwanese folks but at the same time I can't help but notice China, or ppl from China are pretty adament about taking Taiwan back. It is really ingrained into their heads that Taiwan is part of China and there's ABSOLUTELY NO WAY, that they will let Taiwan become indepent. I'm sure that's the same for Taiwanese ppl, that there's NO WAY IN HELL that we will let China govern us.
We both agreed though, that we don't want war, and we think the president of Taiwan is extremely stupid for even bring attention to ourselves by announcing independence. Things were fine... it's like drawing unwanted attention... I mean not a very smart move for a time like this. It has actually backfired, now China will never ever let the topic rest unless Taiwan is officially part of China. Great, stupid Cheng Shuai Beng, motherfucker, dumb ass 4 eyed.. how in the world did he become the president? And seriously, I don't think I will ever ever move back, at least not when he's still in office. Someone please replace him, someone wise and forward thinking.
Anyway, so that was my busy week, I think I did well on my midterm but don't want to be too cocky until I'm sure I got the grade I expected. I think everyone's doing well... hopefully I'll stay on track and get things done as planned.
wedding coming up in two weeks, sal will be back, pretty excited about that!
