Not exactly feeling NY. Maybe because it is cold, maybe because I am pms'ing, whatever it is I am just not feeling it. Day time is okay, walked around, etc...went to 5th ave. on Thursday and shopped, also checked out the new Georgio Armani flagship... I have to say the staircase design is amazing. It's like a gigantic sculpture. I liked it. Except it was already really dirty from 2 days of traffic only... so although it created an indeniably fantastic focal point, the practical aspect of that stair in terms of maintaining its appearance seems lacking a bit. Overall I enjoyed the store very much, and I envy G.A. I think one day I would like that, which is to fully realize my dream of "doing what I love, enjoying what I do" and take it to that level of fame. It's not the fame that I envy, it's the fact that he gets to have his hands in everything! Fashion, Product Design, Furniture Design.... I mean anything and everything it seems. AND he gets to work with such talented architects!
Anyway.. today went to the museum of art and design. There are pieces I really really liked. What I noticed is I tend to like pieces done by Japanese Artists. There's a sense of refined completeness that's just right, none excessive with their work of art. It's done so .. "tight"... I don't even know how to describe it as I suck at describing anything but their work seems complete, well thought out, and simple. I jogged down their names but too lazy to dig it out now, one day I will and try to collect images of the pieces I see, as future inspiration collage. I think everyday art, items all influence architecture and vice versa. And I think that's one thing I do like about this city, and the food of course.
Tomorrow we will relocate to yuju's and I am thinking we will go to MUJI (MY FAVORITE!!!), maybe moma if we have time... and I just cannot wait to return to CA. I miss CA, Levi, SUN... I need sun and being in my own space. And I am just done with socializing for the night... I am once reminded of how un-social I could really be.
