been a while. lots have changed. haven't said much, why is that?
lets see...
1. hated my job, wanted to quit, was getting to my breaking point, felt so burnt out, then the good news came quite suddenly... the boss quit! The day we were here signing the contract for the new house was the day I received several texts and fairly excited phone calls from co-workers --- "DID YOU HEAR! SD QUIT!" Although all signs were that, it was still a surprise. A good one I think, but I do feel bad for him. In the end, we all stayed, because he left. Mental note, don't ever become a boss like him.
2. am now fully committed, as committed as anyone can be. Marriage is, hmmm how do I put it, "domesticated". I can't say it is very different, but it's definitely no single lifestyle here. I think I'm still adjusting. Adjusting because a) moved into a house, back into this suburban lifestyle and said goodbye to my lovely west side, to the lovely ghetto fabulous single gal apt, and to life as I know it. No more renting, no more wondering where my home is, and no more freedom in a sense. Freedom from household related bills, maintenance, freedom from being reckless/careless/thoughtless/heartless... freedom from just being alone w/o such responsibilities and attachment. I guess in the end it's more about the expectation that comes with being in the ultimate commitment --- two families, a home, some grandkids as the parents would call it. No, not ready, I'm barely getting used to being married. It's not bad, its just that I'm not as mentally ready as I thought I was. Not to mention, it's not so easy when there's a whole list of household related items to make work, yet the man in the house isn't in the house all the time. Once again, I'm really THE MAN in the house as well as THE WOMAN, in the house. Either way, it's me and the house.
3. A home. Well that's covered by pt 1 and 2. Feeling very very very lucky and blessed to have this home to call my own, and to have all the help and support I've had so far-- AND, the timing and all's been perfect. Cannot ask for better timing, it's very nice to always have family here with me.
4. Status --- looking better I have to say. I hope I get everything worked out soon by end of the year. I really really really hope things will go smoother now, for me and for my family.
5. Health wise... me fat. Ha, need to work out. I keep saying that, but it's not happening so far... since I pulled my muscle on the first night I moved here, even swimming has become increasingly difficult. What's going on man, my body's just not keeping up lately.....
Anyway... need to sleep. But def want to start writing things down again. I think it'll help with my temper. Btw, work could be better. Just tired of it lately... what to do? I need a vacation.
