9-17-03: should I purposely screw up my interview? so I can stay?
9-18-03: interview went exceptionally well. not feeling particularly happy.
9-19-03: most fulfilling day, did everything I ever wanted to do; met up and had coffee at the little coffee shop next to the Taipei art museum, went to the temple and got a really good fortune/message after asking the god at least 6 times whether the message # I got was correct or not... went to meet up with other friends for dinner at this famous beer/bbq house (Japanese style). Friends went crazy and got it on (drinking game that is) with the waiter there, we drank until the restaurant was closed. They played the famous 5, 10, 15 game... I suck at it but I beat my friend 3 times. :) Beginner's luck I guess. We drank our beer and drinks within minutes after 8:00 so we may get free refills, we all drank a lot... a lot...... got refills... and glass after glass... it's funny to watch how drunk these boys can get.

I noticed the people here love to take pictures, everyone just smile and pose, no one asks you to "wait wait, I am not ready!! I look so this and that"... everyone's always ready in a sense. So natural, so spontaneous, so fun! And people here all seem pretty down to earth, pretty willing to mingle and just chat, no one second guesses your intention/motivation... I think even I let down my guard when I am here. why is that?

9-20-03: met up with family friends, all went to eat at those little market place where all vendors gather. Great food, cheap food, lots of choices, lots of eating... then went to the kid's tap dancing class. It's weird b/c her mom used to be in my ballet class... silly o me used to think I was status wise, older than her, b/c I was in that class first and she came in later. I didn't realize that she was there as a teacher's assistent. I seriously thought I danced better than her... hahahahaha idiot. It's strange how her kid is already 9 years old, very adorable and is absolutely a great dancer. I envy her... I wish I did't quit. At night, met up with friend at bubble Inn... nice little lounge near by my place. I am beginning to love this lifestyle.

9-21-03: Went to Kaoshung, ate with sis/aunt's whole family. Little cousins arent so little anymore... sis has gotten skinner. She's a true Leo in many ways and she can dance. she has a fat rabbit with black circles around its eyes, it looks like it is wearing black eyeliner. The rabbit's the size of my cat. I think I miss hanging out with sis, it's nice to hang out with your siblings...

9-22-03: Took the train to Tainan. Was really shocked when I saw grandpa-- he's so skinny now. He will turn 80 on Oct 2nd. The first thing he said to me was " If you find any boy who likes you, just get married. Your grandma married me when she was 22, a woman should get married when she has a chance, and should have babies younger..." I wanted to say "I want to too but unfortunately I have yet to find someone who wants to marry me". :) Aye... now I know when he got married... and I found out why he became a vegitarian... I think today I paid more attention. I started listening... and I finally learned something new about my grandpa. He worries me... so stubborn.. he won't go to the hospital b/c he is afraid of going into surgery. That fortune teller better be right, otherwise all this suffering's just not worth it. I wish my grandpa can be healthy again.

I am starting to count down the days again. Kenny called today and asked "how did it go". I wanted to lie and say I didn't get it. Just one more year... now that my target's more defined, I've decided that I will suck it up and just deal with shit for one more year. Learn what I gotta learn, take away what I can with me, and move onto a more suitable lifestyle. Just gotta be more optimistic, be patient I guess.
